Services

All services are offered every day, unless weather conditions (rain, wind, heat, etc.) make it unsafe for horses and/or riders.  Make-up lessons and training will be re-scheduled as soon as possible.  As a professional courtesy, please try to give us notice of changes or cancellations at your earliest convenience, and we will do the same.  You WILL be billed for any lesson that is not cancelled in advance (except in the case of emergency).

 

Riding Lessons

 All new clients must start with one 30 minute private evaluation lesson.  The cost is $45.00.  Your lesson includes 30 minutes of actual saddle time—tacking up and down take extra time so be prepared to spend at least an hour at the barn for your evaluation lesson.

Horse Training

 

General Training

 We specialize in show jumpers and dressage, but feel that every horse should have a very well-rounded education.  We work in the round pen, in the dressage court, in the jumper arena, on the trail, and over cross-country.  Having a multi-faceted approach to training keeps the horses interested, fit, and happy to work.  We don’t make promises to miraculously improve your horse with 30 or 60 days under saddle; true training in the classical style is an on-going process that takes time.  If you want a horse that is confident in any request you make of him, happy in his work, and healthy and fit in body and mind, then we are the trainers for you.

 

Full Training                                      $645.00 per month (includes 4/5 sessions per week + turnouts)

Half Training                                     $330.00 per month (includes 2/3 sessions per week + turnouts)

Senior Horse Rehabilitation

 Because we have dealt extensively with older horses who have come to us in less-than-perfect shape, we have become very knowledgeable about all aspects of senior horse care and rehabilitation.  The right combination of correct health care, dental work, diet, supplements, and frequent low-impact exercise can improve the happiness and fitness of every senior horse.

 

Many so-called “horsemen” think that equine senior citizens are a throwaway commodity.  We, on the other hand, feel that these great horses have given their all and deserve to live their lives in as happy and fit a lifestyle as we can give them for as long as humanly possible.

 

We will tailor a specific program for your older horse that includes the following:

 

--  A complete general veterinary exam, including blood panel if necessary

--  A complete dental exam by our veterinary dental expert (can be combined with above visit)

--  Review of current diet and supplement routine and make any necessary changes

--  Starting the horse on our own “Wonder Joint” supplement to improve movement and mobility

--  Tailoring an exercise program that includes frequent and low-key exercise that increases over time

--  Reassessing progress on a regular basis and make changes as needed
