Elizabeth uses a Kieffer all-purpose saddle on Clark, after months of searching Elizabeth found an older Kieffer that fit Clark like it was made for him.  The saddle is around 40 years old and Elizabeth says it's the most comfortable saddle she's ever ridden in.    A new Kieffer saddle is in the works for Elizabeth and Clark.  Susan and Elizabeth have had a Kieffer dressage saddle for years and it has held up beautifully.  These gorgeous saddles are made in Germany and are made with the most lovely of leather and craftsmanship.  One of the great advantages to owning a Kieffer saddle is that the tree is infinitely adjustable by an authorized Kieffer saddle dealer.  These saddles are truly a work of art and some of the most comfortable saddles for both horse and rider on the market.

GPA Helmets

These helmets are the most recognizable high end helmets in the world.  Endorsed by top international riders, they are Elizabeth’s favorite helmets.  Here at Mischief Farm we feel very strongly about safety and require our riders to wear a helmet when mounted.  Elizabeth has three GPA helmets, two for show and two for schooling (one that has been retired due to age).  They fit well and stay cool, and Elizabeth says she really appreciates the feeling of protection they provide.

ThinLine Therapeutic Saddle Pads and Tack

ThinLine products are a new technology of open-cell foam with cushion, shock absorption, weight dispersal, and breathability properties.  Their saddle pads offer the best support and cushion for horses and riders with back problems.  Almost every horse at Mischief Farm uses a Thinline saddle half-pad to enhance fit and comfort while working.  The Big Horse also has a Thinline girth, fetlock boots, and open-front jumping boots, as they offer the best support, protection, and breathability.

MDC Intelligent Stirrups

MDC Ultimate Stirrups offer the rider excellent support and adjustability.  You can turn the eye at the top from a regular stirrup iron angle to either 45 or 90 degrees.  This allows the rider to fine-tune her leg and foot, and also keep back, hip, knee, and ankle comfort in mind.  The stiff rubber joints also allow for good shock absorbing properties—much better support than a standard iron, and better for your body over time.  Almost every client at Mischief Farm owns and rides in a pair of these stirrups every day.

Sore No More Liniment and Gelotion

Here at Mischief Farm we use Sore No More liniment every day.  It can be used under saddle pads and wraps, and does not generate heat.  We use this before and after we ride—its healing ingredients of witch hazel, arnica, and other herbs help muscles and joints stay healthy and flexible.  Highly recommended by Megan Krause, our certified Equine Massage Therapist.  Also great for people.

Effol Horse Balm

A more recent addition to our horse liniment family is Effol Horse Balm.  This herb and menthol combination offers a cooling effect (the menthol) as well as a topical muscle- and joint-supporting blend of time-proven herbals (arnica, camphor, rosemary, and extract of horse chestnut).    Clark and The Big Horse are our biggest Effol fans, and Megan Krause (our certified Equine Massage therapist) has remarked that she can really see a difference in our horses’ muscle fitness since we have incorporated Effol into our massage routine.

Moving Comfort Sports Bras
